Go underground with one of the most dramatic designs from the historic “See America” poster series. This vintage Carlsbad Caverns poster depicts two tiny figures surrounded by towering cavern formations, using bold shapes and deep color to capture the scale and mystery of this New Mexico landmark.

I’ve carefully restored the historic design and reproduced it on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas, creating ready-to-hang wall art with plenty of 1930s graphic character.

See America: Art With a History. Created by artist Alexander Dux for the United States Travel Bureau through the WPA Federal Art Project, this late-1930s poster was designed to promote tourism at Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Its simplified forms, dramatic scale and bold graphic style are classic examples of American travel art from the WPA era.

These posters have long appealed to me as a graphic designer and lover of vintage art. I personally color-correct and restore each design for reproduction while preserving some of the small imperfections and signs of age that give the original artwork its character.

This is a reproduction of the historic poster design, not an original vintage print.
