Cappiello, Cognac & a Mountain of Grapes. Created in France between 1907 and 1909, Cappiello’s Cognac Gautier Frères poster transforms a cognac advertisement into an unforgettable graphic spectacle. A woman shoulders enormous clusters of grapes while bold color and exaggerated scale give the design the visual punch that helped make vintage French advertising posters so distinctive.

As a graphic designer and lover of vintage art, I’ve personally color-corrected and restored this historic design for reproduction while preserving some of the original character and imperfections that give vintage advertising art its charm.
