Cappiello, Contratto & the Art of Celebration. Created in 1922 for the Italian wine house Contratto, this exuberant advertising poster turns a glass of sparkling wine into a larger-than-life celebration. Its dramatic black background, simplified figure and brilliant color reflect Cappiello’s bold approach to modern advertising and the emerging Art Deco style of the 1920s.

As a graphic designer and lover of vintage art, I’ve personally color-corrected and restored this historic design for reproduction while preserving some of the original character and imperfections that give vintage advertising art its charm.
