Privilege Is the Right to Remain Silent – Richie Norton Protest Poster

Richie Norton’s words, “Privilege is the right to remain silent when others can’t,” take center stage in this bold typography protest poster. Bright color and expressive brush-inspired lettering stand out against a black background, giving the message the visual force of something meant to stop you in your tracks.

This quote challenges one of the quieter forms of privilege: the ability to look away when injustice doesn’t directly threaten us. It’s the kind of message that asks us to notice our own position—and what we choose to do with it.

A Reminder Not to Stay Silent. I was drawn to this quote because it turns privilege into something personal. For people like me who can sometimes choose whether or not to engage, it’s a sharp reminder that silence is a choice too. The bold type and vivid color give that idea the graphic urgency it deserves, making this a powerful piece of social justice art.

A portion of the proceeds from this poster supports The Conscious Kid, an organization working to help families and educators take action against racism and inequality.
