Welcome to Montana—1930s style. This striking vintage Montana poster from the historic “See America” series features a lone rider on horseback against a dramatic mountain landscape, rendered in the bold shapes and rich color that made WPA travel posters so memorable.

I’ve carefully restored the historic design and reproduced it on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas, creating ready-to-hang wall art with plenty of Western character and vintage graphic appeal.

See America: Art With a History. Created by artist Martin Weitzman for the U.S. Travel Bureau through the WPA Federal Art Project, this “See America. Welcome to Montana” poster was designed in the late 1930s to encourage Americans to explore the country. Its simplified forms, bold typography and dramatic landscape are classic examples of New Deal-era travel poster design.

These posters have long appealed to me as a graphic designer and lover of vintage art. I personally color-correct and restore each design for reproduction while preserving some of the small imperfections and signs of age that give the original artwork its character.

This is a reproduction of the historic poster design, not an original vintage print.
