Created by Leonetto Cappiello in 1927 for Cognac Monnet, this French advertising poster brings the brand’s memorable slogan, “Du soleil dans un verre” — “sunshine in a glass” — brilliantly to life. A radiant sun bursts from a glass of cognac, bathing the jubilant woman holding it in warmth and light.

Printed in Paris by Devambez during the Art Deco era, the poster uses Cappiello’s signature dramatic contrast, simplified composition and exuberant figure to turn a simple advertising message into an unforgettable piece of vintage French poster art.
